Yes . In case the work is production worthy .they can maintain the
production version of the site if the want and take it up as their
part time job !

I think I should classify as personal .
 Students are free to do whatever they want with the code.
I think the work involved is only , an opportunity to work with a
production site , testing out various Drupal modules and make sure
they work. If at all any original work is done students will have all
the credit. And they can do whatever they want with it no strings
attached. It will remain truly open source in spirit and content.

Yes . In fact there are other projects like this running with student
power and I have given letter to the institute saying they are taking
part in this project. I am very pleased with the progress and more
than anything else the enthusiasm and energy exhibited by the
students. I also understand the limitations of students like time ,
regular studies , Internet access etc.
