It is related to free/open source software, though rather indirect. Lack of theoretical knowledge has led to lack of knowledge in some programming languages like Haskell in certain groups of people working in FOSS, who also are in the ILUGC mailing list. Haskell is a FOSS software. One of my intentions was to create awareness for such software which are closely tied to core computer science theory.
And this thread is a continuation of a previous thread in which the talk about the syllabus came And even in that thread, some critics about HODs, a particular college, and Anna University came. I didn't see any objection being raised in that thread, so I continued the topic.
