It would be more accurate to say that it is GNU's extension language, which would neatly hide the fact no major GNU project actually uses Guile. Although more seriously, I couldn't cite any references for my assertion that Emacs Lisp is the most widely used Lisp, so I'm not sure why I thought that it was. But it still seems plausible, given that Lisps are unpopular, but Emacs is not.
