there is another problem also - much more serious. I requested a password reminder as a test. I then found that my current password had been reset and I could not login. This means that I can happily disable passwords for anyone if I know the username. The proper procedure is to send a mail saying 'someone, possibly you, has requested a password change, if it is you blah blah, otherwise just ignore the mail'.
