Well, when he asks 'best' he means features and performance. I don't see how
the license of the browser is relevant to that.

That being said, my experience with puppy linux on a system with similar
configuration taught me that among the two, Opera takes lesser memory, and
will be more much more usable and faster than firefox 3.x (considering you
have only 256mb ram).

Puppy linux uses seamonkey as it's default browser, which interestingly, is
faster than firefox 3.x.

You can also try dillo, k-meleon, epiphany etc. which are more lightweight.

Btw, these experiences were on a 500Mhz processor 512MB RAM comp.
