As for system-config-display --reconfigure, that is needed only when X stops working right? In my case, gdm didn't start automatically, but when I type # gdm X does start, and it shows the graphical login screen and I am able to login. But after logging, the panels and processes that show icons on the desktop and probably others that display windows are not starting. So I have a graphical screen displaying just the wall paper, where mouse clicks don't work. Would it be wise to find out the names of these processes and starting them before I start gdm from the console? > If not then something may suspect in your system. And that can't have caused any trouble, as I have restarted the machine several times after installing these. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email ilugc-requ...@ae.iitm.ac.in with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc Download prohibited?
