I don't know this is info is already available to you. Still i am sharing it
with you.

I came across wubi, an offically supported ubundu installer for windowz. it
works with very very simple steps. extremely useful for guys
who doesn't want to lose their windowz OS in single step!
http://wubi-installer.org/
http://wubi-installer.org/faq.php

steps
1. download wubi.exe
2. if you have ubundu desktop 8.10 ISO image, keep it in same folder as
wubi.exe is.
If not available, wubi will download the image from internet.
3. start wubi.exe
4. Select username and password for ubundu administrator.
5. click install.

If ISO is already available, wubi will finish its work within 5 minutes (You
dont have time to have a coffee!). otherwise wait till ISO image is
downloaded. After finishing its work it will ask for a reboot. On reboot,
Boot menu will appear, select ubundu to boot. Your ubundu will get
installed. After finishing its installation, you have Ubundu controlling
your system!

The great side of this software is, it does not require any new
partitioning, one resistance I face from people when I say install Ubundu.
For any typical windowz guys, this will look like installing another
windowz software in his system!

Regards
Muneer CH
