Maybe Tamil works, but devanagiri certainly does not work acceptably. (Check the encosed file which was created using yudit.) I spent a bit of time trying out the various terminal options and it _is_ true that "konsole" comes the closest to acceptability. Most "libvte"-based terminals display something but have glitches.
