Hi All, I have a slightly quirky question. I just now downloaded 8.10 CD image and burnt it to a CD. I have the DVD of 8.04 which contains so many additional applicaions not found in the default CD.
My question is this: If i install Ubuntu 8.10 with the CD and the system is running. Now if i include the 8.04 DVD in the apt - sources.list , will it take that as a valid source and install applications from the DVD? I am going ahead with the idea that I do not need the bleeding edge software of 8.10 and am quite happy with the other multimedia and miscellaneous software from the earlier distro. Or will it conflict? I assume GNU/Linux will have backward compatibility but I just want confirmation from experts in this forum.
