There is a parameter MINUID and MINGID in /var/yp/Makefile. This determines
who are part of the NIS. All users having uid above MINUID will be in NIS.
Users below MINUID will be local. Normally root,adm etc will not be in NIS. It
is not advisable to have root as part of NIS.
