I Have a BSNL connection, a separate modem and a Wireless router. Here is my view.
Two different device hence the wires make a mess. If there is a physical cable problem, the BSNL people complain saying the device(wireless) which I have is causing the problem, so you can expect the same if you get your own device. Explaining those people and getting support is time consuming. How ever it works really well for me ;). Hope this helps.
