Hey gurus - I will need to expand the / FS(ext3) on my rhel3 machine - it has no LVM (meaning i am not using LVM for mounting the FS) ....it is installed on hda2 ..given that i have some space below this partition - is this doable from the running OS ?
i already used fdisk - deleted partition 2 - re-added the same with bigger size - and then saved with 'w' - i got the message that the kernel will obey the new part table from the next reboot - but that does not seem to be true - as it did not happen even after the reboot - I still see the old partition table i think i should be able to boot the machine off a CD and do this - but just curious if one can do this from a running OS and reboot if need be thanks for any Thoughts/suggestions you may render Thanks! _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
