Establishes lead American role in emerging renewable energy market

51% of American power is generated from coal, the largest green house emission emitter in the world "Green" energy to be successful and have real global impact requires an effective, and achievable application to existing industry conditions. Co-firing meets and exceeds US Federal EPA air quality standards and the international Kyoto Treaty. (Effective February 16, 2005.) Co-firing allows utilities to qualify for renewable energy certificates, (REC's) and large scale emission trading as sellers, rather than buyers, benefiting American rate payers.

Up to 1 million new jobs could be generated through the renewable energy industry, Texas recently cited a potential of 39,000 "skilled" jobs that could be created in that state alone. Emissions trading could bring significant economic benefits to urban and rural communities alike. In rural areas for example, small schools, institutions and town governments could generate trading credits to sell, creating new revenue streams in communities with limited tax bases.

Conversion of existing coal burning power plants is less expensive than building new "clean coal" plants, and the largest potential growth market of the renewable energy industry.
