EKWAN I is designed to fly at low altitudes on
an aircraft with geophysical equipment that is programed
to detect minerals such as gold, silver, gas, oil etc.
The imaging equipment generates a color coded map of the surface
area. Each color represents a particular mineral or element. This
technology provides clients with a cost effective fast way of
simultaneously collecting hyperspectral and geophysical data in order
to develop target areas for mining and exploration.
A mineral map 2,000 feet wide and 100 miles long can be created in one hour with this new technology compared to what normally took three years of conventional geochemical mapping. Ekwan-X is currently concentrating on highly mineralized areas in Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona. This region is one of the most
prolific gold mining regions in the world!
During January, the company announced that it had completed the
first phase of data acquisition and had found several promising areas for
further investigation. Its primary target there is gold - one of the mainstays
of the Nevada mining industry (The state produces about 7 million ounces
of gold annually, worth approximately $2.8 billion.)
Better than that, EKWX owns the technology to do the job and according to the CEO, there are NO competitors at the present time using this technology on a large scale for its own account. He also feels there is a very good chance at making a major mineral discovery. "EKWAN I has already completed the construction and testing stage and has flown several test missions where the results have been excellent," said Ed Godin, CEO and President of Ekwan-X. "With EKWAN I we have introduced a cost effective way for all mining companies both juniors and established to be able to deliver data in a very quick manner. We are very excited by the prospects that EKWAN I will give us and we firmly believe that this technology will bring a significant amount of interest and attention to Ekwan-X, especially within the mining and oil & gas sector. The Company has already been the recipient of several inquiries of interest and will keep shareholders updated as the situation matures. A Multifaceted Business Model Ekwan-X will be exploiting its technology through three distinct channels - partnering with other firms, exploration on its own account which means the company would receive 100% of the revenues, and consulting services. The partnering strategy would work like this: Ekwan-X first conducts Hyperspectral surveys in a promising area. Then it offers its data to a mining company in exchange for both fees and royalties. The latter could be enormous in the event of a major find. They can run as high as 49% and normally would not go below 10%. For instance, the world-class Voisey Bay nickel discovery in Eastern Canada, which could have been discovered with Hyperspectral imaging if the technology had been in use, was subsequently sold for $4.5 billion.
