The IESG has approved the following document:
- 'A YANG Data Model for Optical Impairment-aware Topology'
  (draft-ietf-ccamp-optical-impairment-topology-yang-23.txt) as Proposed
  Standard

This document is the product of the Common Control and Measurement Plane
Working Group.

The IESG contact persons are Gunter Van de Velde, Jim Guichard and Ketan
Talaulikar.

Technical Summary

In order to provision an optical connection through optical networks,
a combination of path continuity, resource availability, and
impairment constraints must be met to determine viable and optimal
paths through the network. The determination of appropriate paths is
known as Impairment-Aware Routing and Wavelength Assignment (IA-RWA)
for a Wavelength Switched Optical Network (WSON), while it is known
as Impairment-Aware Routing and Spectrum Assignment (IA-RSA) for a
   Spectrum Switched Optical Network (SSON).

This document provides a YANG data model for the impairment-aware TE
   topology in optical networks.

Working Group Summary

This document has broad agreement, with support from experts from
multiple vendors with quite many iterations of discussions. Weekly calls
have been done for years, with consensus achieved during the WG last
   call(s).

Document Quality

A confirmation of implementation is not available at the time of
publication of this document. The effort from top vendors involved
on this document over years partially demonstrate the necessity of
this work, and provide an indication for potential implementations
   after publication.

The document has gone through iterations of YANG doctor reviews.

Personnel

The Document Shepherd for this document is Haomian Zheng. The
Responsible Area Director is Ketan Talaulikar.
