Dear colleagues,

As outlined in
BCP10<https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc8713#section-4.5>, one of my
duties as President of the Internet Society is to appoint a Nominations
Committee (NomCom) Chair.

I am pleased to announce that Benno Overeinder will be the NomCom chair for
2025-2026.

Benno has been an active contributor to the IETF and the broader Internet
community for many years. He currently serves as co-chair of the DNSOP Working
Group and the IETF Hackathon and is involved in various working groups focused
on DNS and RPKI. Benno was also a voting member of the 2024–2025 NomCom.

Outside of the IETF, Benno is engaged in the operational community through his
role on the DNS-OARC board and long-standing participation in the RIPE
community. He is the Managing Director of NLnet Labs, where he works with his
team on the development and deployment of open-source software and open
Internet standards, with a particular focus on DNS, RPKI, and BGP. I would
like to thank Benno for his willingness to serve in this important role.

As we begin a new NomCom cycle, I would like to thank Dean Bogdanovic for his
service as chair for the previous cycle and his continued service as advisor to
Benno during this next cycle.

Finally, I encourage you to volunteer for the NomCom once the call for
volunteers is made. It is a great way to learn more about the IETF and how it
is governed and help ensure we have strong leadership candidates.

Best regards,

Sally Wentworth
President and CEO
Internet Society and Internet Society Foundation
