46th Jan T. Friis Trophy
Tufts University
Upper Mystic Lake, Medford, MA
April 9-10, 2011

Saturday: A beautiful Southerly blowing off the lower lake steadily onto the
upper lake lasted through just a few races. Thereafter the mean wind direction
was WSW. However, the shifts ranged from South to NW making racing either
wacky or impossible for awhile. After a couple of abandoned races and an early
lunch break, racing resumed in a very shifty WSW wind. 42 races completed a
double round-robin among the seven teams. There were no breakdowns and two
protests, both disallowed.

Thanks to RC helpers Victor Ansart, Marina Miaoulis, and Mariel Marchand...and
to judge Tomas Hornos. PRO: Ken Legler

The top four teams move on to the gold fleet at MIT tomorrow while the bottom
three get to sail Larks at Tufts in a better breeze than today, I promise.
Races against teams also going to MIT will count tomorrow.

1. Tufts 10-2 (4-2) (against other top teams)
2. Connecticut 8-4 (2-4)
2. Yale 8-4 (3-3)
4. Harvard 7-5 (3-3)

5. Roger Williams 6-6 (4-0) (against other silver fleet teams)
6. St. Mary's 2-10 (1-3)
7. Rhode Island 1-11 (1-3)

Leading team: Will Haeger/Sally Levinson, Massimo Soriano/Margaret Rew, Nicolas
Russo-Larsson/Roisin Magee
