Mendelblatt Team Race at USF
March 19-20, 2011

Day 1 Report and Results

This morning we had a wind delay until 10:15 am. A light easterly (3-5
knots) developed inside Bayboro Harbor and racing commenced. After an hour
or so, the easterly started veering towards the south, and racing was moved
out into Tampa Bay. Almost as soon as the breeze dropped off at 3pm, the
seabreeze began filling, and the course was adjusted. The remainder of the
second rotation was sailed in a west to north-westerly, around 8 knots.

As the Gold-Silver division results were not going to change, teams were
reluctant to sail a third rotation, and racing ended at 4:20 pm.

There were no protests heard.

We look forward to hosting the Silver Division tomorrow. Thank you to all
of the USF sailors who helped with the regatta today. Congratulations to
MIT, Charleston, and USF for advancing to the Gold Division at Eckerd on
Sunday.

MIT 7-1
Charleston 6-2
USF 4-4
