NEISA Women's Championship for the Reed Trophy
Brown University/Edgewood Yacht Club
April 24-25, 2010

A gorgeous day on the Providence River with temps in the 60's and sunny skies.
2 races sailed in each division in a northerly that slowly died out by noon
time. Winds ranged between 4 and 15 knots in the northerly. A long delay as
we waited for the seabreeze to fill in. At 3:30pm it started to fill from the
south and rapidly built to 15-18 knots with nice waves. 4 more races were
sailed in each division in the S/SW breeze and we sailed the last B-set til
7:15pm. All courses were windward/leewards with an offset and gate. Two
requests for redress were filed. Redress was given to UVM for a breakdown and
one redress will be heard tomorrow morning from Dartmouth.

Thanks to our judges Jeff Dusek, Leo Berendes, and George Crocker. Thanks as
well to the Brown sailors that helped out: Colin Smith '13, Logan Shanney '13,
and Evan Gill '12.

Brown leads after day one with Harvard and Boston College in second and third.
Results can be found at http://regatta.mit.edu/s10/women-ne-reed/ First race
at 10am on Sunday.
