Women's New England Championship
University of Vermont and Dartmouth
April 25-26, 2009

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:

Sun: Another day began with breezy, chilly conditions, sailing in 12-15
early, but breeze died to 2-6 for much of the afternoon. As to be expected,
racing was generally excellent among the NEISA Women, and the level of
competition was very high. The afternoon proved to be a nail-biter with
many lead changes and some 11 or 12 teams fighting for a trip to San
Francisco. Also as expected, exemplary sportsmanship was on display all
weekend resulting in zero protests filed and one request for redress, which
was denied by Judges Janice Lange, Caitlyn Connolly, and James Unsworth.
Thank you again to Dartmouth for new Winters sails, Dartmouth Coach John
Storck for stellar RC work, scorers Connor Aswad and Charlotte Smith, Repair
Wizard Alden Winder, and a whole host of Catamounts for putting on a
fantastic show for the NEISA Women.

Special thanks to John Storck, who also painted three paintings to be
distributed as prizes to the first, second, and third place teams, providing
a truly unique memento of a job well done.

Congratulations to the Yale Elis, Harvard Crimson, Connecticut Camels, Rhode
Island Rams, Boston College Eagles, Dartmouth Big Green, Boston University
Terriers, and Brown Bears; we know you'll represent NEISA well in San
Francisco!
