Day One Results: Highlights: Cold, rainy, breezy and cold day on the Charles with Northeast winds at 8-14. A very raw and nasty day of sailing was at least buoyed by solid breeze with typical Charles River shiftiness. Pineapples for each team as a welcoming gift did little to shed the freeze. Lots of sailors jogging the Esplanade in full gear trying to warm the blood flow. Marauding tent raiders the norm. Two capsizes, one breakdown, two short delays for repairs, a few general recalls, minimal individual recalls, no protests filed. Windward-Leeward courses, twice around with offsets and gates. Tight racing with lots of close finishes and little time between starts.
