SAISA Spring Coed Champioship
College of Charleston
April 11-12, 2009
FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: We had ideal sailing conditions today in Charleston. with
sunny skies,
warm temperatures, and a variety of wind and current conditions, making for
dynamic racing.
Racing started just before 10am in a 10-15 knot westerly breeze with relatively
slack
current. The breeze was extremely shifty all day, ranging from 8-20 knots and
eventually
making its way from W to NNW. The current started as a weak ebb, built
throughout the
morning, was quite strong for the afternoon, and switched to a weak flood as we
entered the
evening races. A full round-robin (11 races) was completed, all courses were
gold cups.
Thanks to all of the teams that made the trip to Charleston and to the CofC
sailors for
helping to run a very long day of racing. Congrats to Charleston, Eckerd, USF,
Miami and
Florida for qualifying for the ICSA National Semi-Final Championship in Boston
on May 2-3.
