SAISA Co-ed Dinghy Championships
Eckerd College
April 5, 2008
FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday: SAISA Dinghy Champs provided teams with great breeze.
Teams arrived to a warm southerly breeze and sunny skies. Racing
began on the South side of Indian Key before the breeze quickly
built to 20+ knots. Race 1A and 1B were completed before the racing
was moved to the North side of Indian Key, where the breeze moderated
to 16-18 knots with gusts to 24. Race 1A and 1B were Trapezoids, all
other races were Gold Cups. Multiple capsizes and spin outs highlighted
the day before racing was complete. 10 races in each division were
sailed. There was 1 breakdown resulting in breakdown points, no
protests were filed. Thanks to PRO Matt Gove and the Eckerd sailors
for putting on another great regatta.
Congrats to Eckerd for winning the Coed Dinghy Champs and to Eckerd,
Charleston, USF, Florida and FAU for qualifying for Semi-Finals
