FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
SATURDAY: 25 sailors from 16 schools competed in this year's NEISA
Men's Singlehanded Championship. A three hour wind delay ended at 12:30
when a light ESE breeze filled. Breeze held at 4-6 knots for five races
before shifting right and dying during the sixth race, leading to
abandonment. Several general recalls in the early races, with outgoing
tide. Courses were all windward/leeward twice around with offsets and
gates.
SUNDAY: Races 6-10 sailed before lunch in a slowly dying NE breeze
ranging from 12-15 knots in the first two races, eventually dying to
around 8 knots for the final 'morning' races. Just two races completed
after lunch as the breeze shifted to ESE and continued to die. Fourth
Nationals berth decided in final race. No protests, one redress granted
(breakdown). All courses windward/leeward twice around with offsets and
gates.
Congratulations to Kyle Kovacs, Thomas Barrows, Reed Johnson, and Andrew
Criezis for qualifying for Men's Singlehanded Nationals.
