The conditions of our team racing championship calls for one of two course; Triangle-Windward or the College "N." The N course is a pain to set but allows multiple races with minimal interference from other races.

During Spring practice coaches will often set the N course as they know they are far more likely to see them at championships. In the Fall team racing is not done often enough to justify setting the N, which requires seven anchors, four across the top and three across the bottom. If you are fleet racing on a modified triangle or modified W-L, here is a great team race practice course which does not require setting any new buoys. Simply use the modified W-L but change the windward mark rounding to starboard. This gives you the proper roundings, minus the offset, and gives you much needed downwind work. If you are running multiple races there is some danger of running into another race going the other way but reminding sailors to keep a good lookout minimizes the risk.
