FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday: A perfect fall day with temps around 60 degrees, lots of sun, and
absolutely ideal sailing conditions on the Providence River. A light
Southeasterly began the day and quickly went right to the South and built to
10-14 knots. Strong outgoing current made the right side of the upwind legs a
bit favored in the afternoon. Courses were Gold Cups and W/L's (3 or 4 legs)
with gates. One protest resulting in a DSQ for Brown B-division. Thanks to
judges Sue Reilly, George Crocker, and Tom Kirk for keeping the competitors in
line. Dartmouth opens up a nice lead after day one.
Sunday: No wind and periods of rain for most of the day. A decent northerly
filled in at 2pm at 6-9 knots for 3 B races and one A race. All W/L courses,
no protests. Thanks to day two judges Sue Reilly, Anthony Kouton, and Richard
Hale. Congrats to Dartmouth on increasing their lead and taking home the
Fiske, Harriman, and Sleigh Trophy for the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship.
