Last semester the University of Florida Sailing Team began work on a new windows based regatta scoring program that would be on par with the current Navy DOS program being used. The current beta version of the program was brought to the SAISA annual meeting this past weekend and teams were allowed to take a copy of the program to see what they think of it. A copy was also given to the SAISA officers to look at. Currently the beta version is a functional scoring program that can input the skipper and crew names, generate the proper rotations, input the scores for races, and calculate the results for the regatta as a regatta summary. This includes bye rotations and breakdowns. The program can print all this information, but there are still some formatting issues that sometimes make it unreadable which are still being worked out. Also there is still a saving error to be corrected. These issues will be resolved in the near future and the program will be available to any teams wanting to test it or use it.
