Hi,

I'm currently trying to setup distributed monitoring with HA using directors
and I'm very confused with the following points:

Okay as per my thinking this is how it works:

1. At the top there is the Icinga instance with Director installed. The
Endpoint for this director should be the master node lets call it M1 in our
master cluster zone. The configurations are deployed on that M1 which syncs it
to the rest of the masters (satellites) in its master cluster zone by reading
zones.conf

2. If so the director becomes a single point of failure so we need 2 directors,
so should the second director also point to M1 for its endpoint or to another
node M2 (sat) in the master cluster zone.

(by endpoint I mean the endpoint we add when we run kickstart)

3. How will the Director deploy configs if M1 goes down?
4. Basically how does the HA topology works when we put the director into the
mix. I'm struggling with the fact that how we would achieve HA in the director?
5. Should the director be deployed on the master/satellites in the master
cluster zone or should they be deployed on a separate node.
6. If we have 2 directors is it okay for them to connect to the same director
database.

I have asked multiple questions on the monitoring portal as well. No answers
there I'm afraid. It would be greatly appreaciated if anybody can shed some
light on the topic, im quite stuck with this.
