I don't think that is the case. I have done setups with multiple zones,
where each zone did contain a lot (hundreds) of monitored hosts and the
monitoring has been split across multiple (two) satellites (I would have
done more, but due to a bug that was limited to two).
If you go ahead and take the default config where ZoneName = NodeName,
then yes, this results in a lot of zones for a lot of nodes, but it does
not have to be that way!
