I've re-factored one of my to approaches to fix the problem of newly added runtimes not being put into effect (https://github.com/Icinga/icinga2/issues/4790) so as to subsequently merge upcoming new segments into an already running downtime, see https://github.com/Icinga/icinga2/files/1704294/scheduleddowntime.txt.
This fixes the problem of DowntimeEnd/DowntimeStart Notifications at midnight.
