I made a beginner’s mistake. In the section “The instance should report its check results to an existing Icinga 2 master” I set the instance name to my2ndwindowsmachine and then I set host to icinga2machine. Changing the instance name to icinga2machine fixed it.
Thank you very much for taking the time. Open ports 5665/TCP In and Out 2. Install Icinga2-v2.7.1-x86_64.msi I’m testing out Icinga2 after having been on Icinga1 for ages now. I have Icinga2 up and running and have successfully added 5 Linux machines and 1 Windows machine for monitoring. The problem started with the 2nd then the 3rd Windows machine. I keep getting this error at the end of the installation. Running command 'icinga2.exe daemon --validate' produced the following output: ---------------------------------- cut here ---------------------------------- information/cli: Icinga application loader (version: v2.7.1) information/cli: Loading configuration file(s). critical/config: Error: Object ‘my2ndwindowsmachine’ of type 'Endpoint' re-defined: in C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf: 15:1-15:24; previous definition: in C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf: 6:1-6:34 Location: in C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf: 15:1-15:24 C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf(13): } C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf(14): C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf(15): object Endpoint NodeName { ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf(16): } C:\ProgramData\icinga2\etc\icinga2/zones.conf(17): ---------------------------------- cut here ---------------------------------- If I open an administrator console and run icinga2.exe daemon –validate from C:\Program Files\ICINGA2\sbin I get the same error. I thought it was a fluke so I moved onto the next machine but I get the same error there too. Does anyone have any ideas about this? _______________________________________________ icinga-users mailing list icinga-users@lists.icinga.org<mailto:icinga-users@lists.icinga.org> https://lists.icinga.org/mailman/listinfo/icinga-users
