I have a migration project to move the entire monitoring to Icinga2
(Director) based solution, current setup uses Icinga2 but with a lot of
manual configurations.
The problem is that they want to set up the infrastructure of the new
solution just like the one they have now, which is a central HA master
node where the DB and Web2 +Director are installed and a HA endpoints in
each zone (4 zones) where the checks will be executed from.
At the moment the remote nodes all use NRPE as the remote executor and
there is a plan to move them to icinga2 agent, but as the process is not
automated it is for stage 2.
The issue we are encountering is that Director wants to use "Agents" to
execute the checks in the remote zones, which we do not have and
defining the Endpoints in the zones does not delegate the execution (we
still see them executed via the master - currently a single node ) .
Has anyone built such a solution and can share any insights ?
