Interfaces such as Icinga Web 2 take the is_active column into account when querying the database. The is_active column allows to keep references for deleted objects and their check related history which might be relevant for sla reporting. Deleting the objects entirely from the database is not possible using the current schema and compatible interfaces and addons.
