Hello All, If this is too basic, please pardon my ignorance.
As part of analysis of icinga2 distributed environment on a few different DMZs that we have, I am trying to do a simple POC consisting of the following. * My master server is in GENERIC domain. * Host 'hostA' is in a subdomain say 'subdomain-x' of GENERIC. * Host 'hostB' is in a subdomain say 'subdomain-y' of GENERIC. I have already installed icinga2 core, mysql, IDO DB, icingaweb2, nagios-plugins-all in master. My goal is to have an architecture where hostA and hostB individually communicate with master, update the status of all what they monitor and icingaweb2 running on master shows information hostA and hostB monitor? 1. Should I use Distributed Zones approach for this? 2. Should I install icinga2 core, mysql, IDO DB,icingaweb2 and nagios-plugins-all in hostA and hostB or just icinga2 core? 3. If I have multiple hosts in subdomain-x, should I define a zone X, create endpoints for each host of this domain and define inside zone X? Thanks, Vishnu
