Those benchmarks were actually run, and you're welcome to start your
very own. Fire up a test vm, generate some configuration, and then see
how it performs, compared to your existing setup. Without knowing your
infrastructure in its very detail, I could just say - yes, it's better.
But not the reason and how much more you'll gain, as that depends on
your infrastructure. Though I have never seen high latencies with
icinga2 thanks to its asynchronous check execution/result processing and
much more.
