We are planning to migrate our monitoring platform to icinga. One major feature
we are looking is the capability to run the monitoring itself even the Manage
server is down. So there will be a local schedule call executing the monitors
and then buffer the messages to be later sent to Manage server when becomes
available.
As I read, icinga is agentless. We are looking if there can be a substitute
that can do the role of agent. We are thinking of using the crontab to run the
checks. Now the question is the buffering of messages.
