There were some massive changes also in minor version updates and
documentation is a problem, as you already found out.
But there was only one guy so far creating a ticket fixing the bracket
change introduced in 1.10 - so if you do not escalate the problems using
issues, it's generally hard to guess what's wrong.
I haven't had any problems so far querying the rest api for my needs,
but the question is - what do you expect?
