Is there a simple way to extract trend statistics from Icinga DB?
What's your definition of a "trend statistic"?
I am interested in the trend graph data for hosts and related
services/applications and calculate up/down rapport during business
hours.
So basically a mix of trend prediction and sla reporting. I'd look
into Icinga Reporting for the second part, for the first I'm not sure
whether an application/report exists, or if graphs become handy (like
ingraph's forecast).
The need is to monitor the use of certain predefined applications during
business hours on workstations.
For example: writer/word, calc/excel, thunderbird, firefox, ...
No matter if they are simply open in background or are actively used.
The only interest at the moment is to extrapolate how long are active
and be able to do the statistics on these data.
Isn't that somehow surveillance of your employees?
