CA doesn't exist anymore, it's Broadcom.

I know guys at Broadcom who have been there (via CA) for years. I would
start a bit higher up the food chain.

Years ago I established regular meetings with their support management and
development people, it worked very well. As you say, the sales folk just
disappear.

Linkedin has Broadcom folks listed. Since I know Kevin Shuma, try him.
Great guy and has been around with CA/Broadcom over 35 years.
