Hi, Was wondering if some could help explain what I am missing when setting up HSM tapes and using RMM. I have read the RMM and HSM setups and still having issues with Tape expirations issues.
In RMM I have a VRS rule to manage my HSM full volume dump tapes, however that is after the fact. HSM when it opens the tape sets the expiration to 1999/365, so the tape never returns to scratch status. If I validate RMM, Librarian and Display a volume, I can see it is scratch. However if I perform an ISMF, Then volumes and virtual volumes display, the tape is still private. Right now I am manually comparing RMM scratch and ISMF Scratch tapes and setting as scratch, which as you can imagine is time consuming every Monday. Can someone enlighten me as to how to setup the DFHSM parms, right now its set to SETSYS TAPESECURITY(EXPIRATION) but this sets the 1999/365. So I am completely not understanding something, This is my first time really dealing with and setting up RMM, so slightly lost on if I can fix this?
