The phrase "based on language rather than complex symbols" is puzzling; what does the author think that languages are? Perhaps there is a hunter-gatherer language that doesn't use complex symbols, but I doubt it. Certainly a stuatue ov Gracie is overdue, but the author doesn't begin to do her credit for her many accomplishments.
