I adopted HSM support from my predecessor who retired. It looked like a lot of
files weren't getting migrated, but I couldn't see what was wrong. The
IBM-supplied reports weren't much help. We acquired the Disk Management Suite
from DCMS and was able to use the HASP tool to find which files were slipping
thru our migration rules and it let me deal with the exceptions without having
to change our management classes or ACS routines. We were also concerned about
whether our HSM auto-backup cycle was backing up everything properly so I used
the product's AHAB tool. AHAB's reported which files were being skipped.
After some tweaking, we solved those issues and now I have AHAB notifying me
when anything else gets missed.
