I feel compelled to use Perl because of its expressive power and the massive 
library available at CPAN, but I consider it ugly. I'd really prefer a language 
with regex syntax for people who aren't limited to slow teletypes, more in the 
style of ICON, SNOBOL or Wylbur.

As for REXX, it is a very clean language for scripting OS commands, and 
acceptable for more complicated tasks. I just wish that IBM, having invented 
OREXX, would bring OOREXX into the z fold.

Well, if it's "Free-For-All-Friday", I vote for replacing all that crap
with Perl.  And I'm sure that PHP and even that snake language have their
fans.  Maybe IBM should leave script language design to the wider world.

REXX is adequate for a lot of things, but the // and % operators just make
me mad.
