Several selling points for using a session manager are: 1) you only have to make one tn3270 connection, as long as you have SNA connectivity with all the LPARS you want to have SNA sessions with; 2) if you lose that tn3270 connection, when you log back into it, your active 3270 sessions are still there; and 3) your session manager can automate the login to all the SNA sessions you want, either at initial login time, or later if you select a session manually from its menu.
