I've never had any luck resizing ZFS using the DSS copy, I'd be curious if that works for Lizzette zfsadm grow will work if the zfs was allocated with a large enough primary, my personal preference, rather than having many extents to get my final results, plus John makes a good point The only reason that I can think of is if the zFS filesystem LDS was originally created with a DataClass which did not have "extended addressing" and so is limited to 4 GiB.
