Caveat: daily list digestion leads to backups in responses... *grin*

Brian: You may already know [1] but SAG actually uses the QVS interface to
query the machine. There is a sample NATQVS program [2] where you can see the
results it reports. Perhaps, if the old machine is still available, you could
compare the two to see what is being reported. QVS reports both LPAR &
Hardware values which can be different because of capping. (I think it even
reported that z/VM was guesting.)

ps. If you didn't already know, SYSTP has the "L - Natural License
Information" option to query the licence contents. You could see what it has
for <CPUIDs> vs. the QVS information.

[1] I would have expected SAG to request that information on your SR with them.
[2] somewhere. You could SYSMAIN Find for it. We used it for testing, under
z/VM, to see how NAT425/MLC would respond if we accidentally used OOCoD to
boost beyond our licence values. Very effective.

Subject: Re: Layout CPC serial number z13S

We just installed this past Monday. No key issues sans working with SAG to get
rid of a message of one product that thinks it's on our D/R machine but is
running fine. See below the D M=CPU. I believe it to be the same as it was.

D M=CPU
IEE174I 08.20.55 DISPLAY M 090
PROCESSOR STATUS
ID CPU SERIAL
00 + xx????2965
01 +I xx????2965

xx = lpar id
???? = last 4 of 5 digits of serial number
