The number might be enormous nowadays.
AFAIK there is no practical limit. So the limit is volume size minus
VTOC&Co. That means 1TB nowadays.
BTW: PDSE V1 has "not so big" limit for the member size. I experienced
the limit when some huge PTF was to big to fit in PDSE, but still within
PDS limits. Note: old PDS limited to 64k tracks, but no limit for member
size.
