Oh guys, the reason is really prosaic: I want an SMF 17 with multiple VOLSERs in it.
I'm happy to follow the rules; I just want the rules to allow me to create a multi-volume dataset (that would exist for less than one second). PSU is a good suggestion but -- I am learning SMS here -- the system appears to have zero non-SMS volumes. The assembler program I have not yet tried. Wish Rexx EXECIO supported FEOV!
