I meant both inside and outside. So cable 1234567890 will report where it is plugged, which can be seen in HCD, SMF etc. And you can check that you have cable 1234567890 and not 1234576890 in your hands to plug it.

Is it THE cable or some other cable? Should I dive below the floor and check? Sorry, the only way to keep it in order is to put some (unique) labels on both end of the cable. And my advice: do NOT put CHP number or other port ID there! Reason: cable can be replugged.
