From Hardware Management Console Operations Guide, Version 1.8.2, Chapter 3-20:

9672 Generation 5, and 9672 Generation 6 if running at the current Licensed
Internal Code levels.

I guess Connor is not running at the current LIC levels, I distinctly remember
him not having this feature (nor the integrated 3270 console) available when we
were initially setting the machine up. I guess updating the LIC is on the
tasklist then.

I see for z/VM and the SAPL, one needs certain load parameters for them to use
the integrated (3270) console. So it is at the discretion of the OS (or the
discretion of the systems programmer by means of configuration of the OS) to
use the integrated console? How does the OS find the integrated console? Does
it map itself to a certain reserved unit that the OS will look for, or does it
completely bypass the concept of units?
